We believe music has a spiritual impact. Whenever an evil spirit came upon King Saul, young David played his lyre, and the evil spirit would leave (see 1 Samuel 16:23). This same David, when he later became king, appointed specially skilled musicians in the temple whose music was paired with prophecy (see 1 Chronicles 25).
